Underground station engineering questions

Excavation support and station box structural design, internal structures, ventilation and smoke control, life safety and egress design, and coordination with tunnelling and systems contractors.

Commonly with diaphragm walls and top down construction, which allows the surface to be reinstated early while excavation continues beneath. The sequence is designed alongside the permanent structure because temporary conditions frequently govern.
