End to end engineering for data centers in India

J&F India provides end to end data center engineering services, from first feasibility study through to onsite deployment. We support hyperscale, colocation and edge facilities, working through the constraints that actually decide these projects: power availability, cooling strategy, structural density and regulatory compliance.

Our teams combine structural design, MEPF engineering and BIM delivery in one coordinated model, so white space, plant rooms and support areas resolve together rather than in sequence.

What makes data center engineering different

A data center is not a building with servers in it. The engineering is shaped by three pressures that rarely appear together on other projects.

Power and cooling set the design

Rack density drives everything upstream: transformer sizing, riser routes, cooling topology and the structural grid that has to carry the plant. Layout decisions taken in week two constrain capacity for the life of the asset.

Uptime removes the margin for error

Concurrent maintainability means redundant paths for power, cooling and controls. Every service route has to be coordinated in the model before it is drawn, because a clash found on site is an outage risk rather than a delay.

Programmes are phased and repetitive

Halls are handed over in stages while construction continues alongside. Documentation has to support staged energisation, with revision control tight enough that the team on site is never working from a superseded drawing.

How we deliver a data center programme

Five phases, each producing something the next one depends on.

We assess viability before commitment: site selection, grid connectivity, environmental impact and cost benefit analysis. This phase evaluates power infrastructure, seismic factors and market demand, which is what separates a workable site in a Tier 2 city from one that stalls at approval.

Master planning and technical strategy built around redundancy, scalability and sustainability. We prepare tender documentation, quantity estimates and procurement strategy so bids are comparable and the scope is unambiguous before award.

Structural, MEP and systems design integrated into construction ready documentation. Calculations are worked against standards including TIA-942, with the layout optimised for high density computing and energy efficiency rather than generic office loading.

Federated modelling with clash coordination and multidiscipline review. Issues are resolved in the model, which is materially cheaper than resolving them in a live plant room, and the same model supports handover and lifecycle management.

Project management, quality assurance and progress monitoring through construction. Onsite deployment covers resource coordination, risk mitigation and integration of digital tools so handover is a transition rather than a scramble.

What We Deliver

Our data center scope covers structure, MEPF and BIM delivery under one coordinated model, so power, cooling and structural decisions resolve together rather than in sequence.

Data Center Engineering
Questions.

We deliver engineering and documentation rather than construction: feasibility and site studies, structural and MEPF design, federated BIM coordination, shop drawings, quantity take offs and tender documentation, plus construction phase support through to handover.

Yes. The engineering discipline is the same across all three, but the emphasis shifts. Hyperscale rewards repeatability and staged energisation, colocation needs flexible tenant fit out, and edge sites are constrained by footprint and remote operation.

TIA-942 for data center infrastructure, alongside Indian codes including the National Building Code and relevant BIS standards. Client and operator specific standards are incorporated where the brief requires them.

Yes. Common entry points are taking over detailed design after concept, providing independent review of an existing design, or picking up BIM coordination and shop drawings when the programme tightens.

Through a federated model with scheduled clash review rather than discipline by discipline drawing exchange. Issues are logged, assigned and closed in the model, so the drawings that reach site reflect a resolved design.

We work on projects across Tier 1 metros and the emerging Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets where land and power economics increasingly favour new capacity. Delivery runs from our engineering teams in India with German coordination standards.
