Highway engineering questions

Alignment and geometric design at speed, pavement and drainage design, structures including bridges and underpasses, interchange design, and toll and wayside facility infrastructure.

Design speed. Sight distance, horizontal and vertical curvature, superelevation and lane and shoulder widths all follow from it, to the relevant Indian Roads Congress standards. Raising design speed late in a project usually forces realignment.
